Sunday - Matins

In the name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

God, come to my assistance
Lord, make haste to help me

Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning,
is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Psalm 2

Why have the Gentiles raged,
and the people devised vain things?

The kings of the Earth stood up,
and the princes met together,
against the Lord,
and against his Christ.

Let us break their bonds asunder:
and let us cast away their yoke from us.

He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh at them:
and the Lord shall deride them.

Then he shall speak to them in his anger,
and trouble them in his rage.

But I am appointed king by him
over Sion his holy mountain,
preaching his commandment.

The Lord hath said to me: Thou art my son,
this day I have begotten thee.

Ask of me,
and I will give thee the Gentiles for thy inheritance,
and the utmost parts of the Earth for thy possession.

Thou shalt rule them
with a rod of iron,
and shalt break them in pieces
like a potter's vessel.

And now, O ye kings, understand:
receive instructions, you that judge the Earth.

Serve ye the Lord with fear:
and rejoice unto him with trembling.

Embrace discipline,
lest at any time the Lord be angry,
and you perish from the just way.

When his wrath shall be kindled in a short time,
blessed are all they that trust in him.

Apocalypse 19:11-16

And I saw heaven opened,
and behold a white horse;
and he that sat upon him
was called faithful and true,
and with justice doth he judge and fight.

And his eyes were as a flame of fire,
and on his eyes were many diadems,
and he had a name written,
which no man knoweth but himself.

And he was clothed
with a garment sprinkled with blood;
and his name is called
THE WORD OF GOD.

And the armies that are in heaven
followed him on white horses,
clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp two edged sword;
that with it he may strike the nations.
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron;
and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness
of the wrath of God the Almighty.

And he hath on his garment, and on his thigh written,
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Te Deum

O God, we praise Thee:
We acknowledge Thee to be the Lord.

Everlasting Father,
all the Earth doth worship Thee.
To Thee all the angels,
the Heavens and all the Powers,
all the Cherubim and Seraphim,
unceasingly proclaim:

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts.
Heaven and Earth are full of the majesty of Thy glory.

The glorious choir of the Apostles,
the wonderful company of Prophets,
the white-robed army of Martyrs,
praise Thee.
Holy Church throughout the world
doth acknowledge Thee:
the Father of Infinite Majesty;
Thy adorable, true and only Son;
and the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.

Oh Christ, Thou art the King of Glory!
Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father.
Thou, having taken it upon Thyself to deliver man,
didst not disdain the Virgin's womb.
Thou overcame the sting of death
and hast opened to believers
the Kingdom of Heaven.

Thou sittest at the right hand of God,
in the glory of the Father.

We believe that Thou shalt come to be our Judge.

We beseech Thee, therefore, to help Thy servants
whom thou hast redeemed with Thy Precious Blood.

Make them to be numbered
with Thy Saints in everlasting glory.

Dismissal

May the Lord bless us,
Protect us from all evil
and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.
